However, tattoos, brands or body markings on the head, neck, face, tongue, lips and/or scalp still remain prohibited. Hand tattoos are limited to a single-band ring tattoo on one finger of one hand. The Air Force is evolving with the culture. More than 20% of Air Force applicants had tattoos that required some type of review each year. Now the policy is easier to implement with less gray area left for interpretation of the reviewers. Unauthorized Tattoos/Brands Unauthorized (Content) Tattoos/Brands anywhere on the body that are obscene, advocate sexual, racial, ethnic, or religious discrimination are prohibited in and out of unifo rm. Tattoos/brands that are prejudicial to good order and discipline, or of a nature that tends to bring discredit upon the Air Force are prohibited in and out of uniform. Any member obtaining unauthorized tattoos will be required to remove them at their own expense. Using uniform items to cover unauthorized tattoos is not an option. Members failing to remove unauthorized tattoos in a timely manner will be subject to involuntary separation, or punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Body Piercing In Uniform Members are prohibited from attaching, affixing or displaying objects, articles, jewelry or ornamentation to or through the ear, nose, tongue, or any exposed body parte (includes visible through the uniform). Earring should fit tightly without extending below the earlobe. (EXCEPTION Connecting band on clip earrings.) Civilian Attire Official Duty Members are prohibited from attaching, affixing or displaying objects, articles, jewelry or ornamentation to or through the ear, nose, tongue, or any exposed body part (includes visible through clothing). EXCEPTION Women are authorized to wear one small spherical, conservative, diamond, gold, white pearl, or silver pierced, or clip earring per earlobe and the earring worn in each earlobe must match. Earring should fit tightly without extending below the earlobe. (EXCEPTION Connecting band on clip earrings) Off Duty on a Military Installation Members are prohibited from attaching, affixing or displaying objects, articles, jewelry or ornamentation to or through the ear, nose, tongue, or any exposed body part (includes visible through clothing). EXCEPTION Piercing of earlobes by women is allowed, but should not be extreme or excessive. The type and style of earrings worn by women on a military in stallation should be conservative and kept within sensible limits. There may be situations where the commander can restrict the wear of non-visible body ornaments. Those situations would include any body ornamentation that interferes with the performance of the members military duties. The factors to be evaluated in making this determination include, but are not limited to impairs the safe and effective operation of weapons, military equipment, or machinery poses a health or safety hazard to the wearer or others or interferes with the proper wear of special orprotective clothingor equipment (EXAMPLE helmets, flack jackets, flight suits, camouflaged uniforms, gas masks, wet suits, and crash rescue equipment). Installation or higher commanders may impose mora restrictive standards for tattoos and body ornaments, on oroff duty, in those locations where the Air Force-wide standards may not be adequate to address cultural sensitivities (e.g. overseas) or mission requirements (e.g. basic t raining environments). Update The Air Force also announced a policy which prohibits body mutilation, such as split tongues. Frequently Asked Questions Here are some of the most commonly asked questions and answers from the experts concerning the recent revision to Air Force Instruction 36-2903 on body piercing and tattoos. QuestionWhy do we need a tattoo and body piercing policy? AnswerThe policy was created based on requests from commanders and first sergeants who wanted clearer standards and guidelines in the face of the growing popularity of body art and body piercing fads. QuestionWho has the final say on the appropriateness of earrings, body piercing or branding? AnswerCommanders and first sergeants are the first line of authority for making this determination. Body piercing (other than earrings) is quite straightforward dont display it while in uniform, while performing official duty in civilian attire or on a military installation at any time. Tattoos are a bit more subj ective, but this policy provides commanders guidelines to make the calls. QuestionDoes the body piercing policy applies to all areas of the military installation including recreation facilities (pools, ball fields, etc.) and living areas (dormitories, military family housing)? AnswerYes. But it is also important to note the policy only addresses personal appearance issues while on the installation. Although the Air Force encourages airmen to maintain an appropriate military stellung at all times, piercing practices off base, such as earring wear by males, are not intended to be addressed by this policy. QuestionWhat happens to those people who had tattoos before this new policy came into effect, and who might now be in violation of the policy? AnswerIts expected that most tattoos fall within acceptable guidelines. Questionable tattoos will be considered on a case-by-case basis between the airmen and their commander. If a tattoo is unauthorized racist, sexist or otherwise discrimina tory in nature the tattoo must be removed at member expense. If a commander rules that a tattoo falls into the other category of inappropriate, there are other options, to include using uniform items to cover part or all of the image(s). QuestionIs there a set timeframe to have a tattoo removed before being involuntarily separated? AnswerThere is not a set timeframe for removal. The commander determines the sense of urgency, depending on the nature of the tattoo. For instance, if airmen have inappropriate tattoos they would like to voluntarily remove, the commander can assist them in seeking medical support for the procedure. The timing of removal, in this case, will be driven primarily by the availability of medical facilities staffed and equipped for tattoo removals. QuestionWhat are the differences in the piercing policy for women and men? AnswerThe only difference is the wear of earrings. Males may not wear earrings on duty whether in or out of uniform nor can they wear them of f duty on base. Females performing official duty in civilian attire are limited to the same wear criteria as for when in uniform i.e., a single small spherical, conservative, diamond, gold, white pearl, or silver pierced or clip earring per earlobe. The earrings must match and should fit tightly without extending below the earlobe. Above Information Derived from AFI 36-2903 and the Air Force News Service

Know the Fixed Costs of Aircraft Ownership

Know the Fixed Costs of Aircraft OwnershipKnow the Fixed Costs of Aircraft OwnershipYou may be familiar with the stories about actor Harrison Ford and his passion for airplanes, including aircraft ownership and, while a lot of actors- including John Travolta- own private planes, there are also a lot of everyday people passionate about flying. While you dont need to be a millionaire to own a plane, you do need to know in advance of purchase what the day-in, day-out costs will be. Fixed vs. Variable Costs The cost ofaircraft ownership can be divided into fixed costs and platzhalter costs.Determining which ownership costs are fixed and which are variable is essential to successful aircraft ownership. If you are a potential aircraft buyer or operator knowing these costs can help determine if you will be able to afford an airplane. Fixed costs, as opposed to variable costs, are defined as costs that remain the same over a period of time. Conversely, variable costs are subject to chang e and include things like fuel, oil, maintenance, landing fees, etc.An aircrafts fixed costs remain the same no matter how many hours you fly your plane. However, the cost per unit of a fixed cost will increase (or decrease) depending on the level of activity of the airplane. For example, if your fixed cost is insurance, you will pay the same rate no matter how much the airplane flies each year. If your insurance costs $1,200 dollars per year, and you fly the airplane for 100 hours each year, your hourly insurance cost is $12 per hour. However, if you fly the airplane more often (lets say 200 hours each year) then your insurance cost per hour drops to $6 per hour. This is why youll often hear aircraft owners say that they need their airplane to fly more in order to keep costs down. Examples of Fixed Costs Some examples of fixed costs include the following Aircraft financing (whether on a lease or loan payment basis)InsuranceThe purchasing of books, charts, and materialsHangar re ntalTaxes and FAA registration feesAircraft accessoriesCrewmember salaries, if they are paid a fixed annual salary. If a crew member is paid by the flight hour, on the other hand, it is considered a variable cost because the cost depends on the activity level of the airplane. The cost per unit, or cost per flight hour, can be decreased with an increase in aircraft use. Overall, pilots like to say that they get more bang for your buck when they fly more hours. For example, if you rent hangar space for $6,000 per year and fly your airplane 100 hours per year, your cost per hour for the hangar rental is $60. If you rent the same hangar but only fly 500 hours per year, your cost per flight hour decreases to $12 per hour. Budgeting for Your Plane Its important to recognize (and plan ahead) for both fixed and variable costs when you become an aircraft owner or operator. All too often, aircraft owners are surprised by the additional costs they encounter after purchasing an airplane. Kn owing both the fixed (and variable) costs of air travel, aircraft usage, and aircraft maintenance will determine if you can afford this hobby and if so, help to keep your budget in check.

Gender diversity provides huge benefits in the workplace. pWhile some industries have made significant advancements in gender diversity, some industries lag further behind... and the construction industry is well-known for being in the latter category. If someone says, construction workers, youll likely picture a group of men in yellow hard hats analyzing an architects plans or laying bricks on top of a scaffold. And men at work signs only help to reinf orce this image.pThis stereotype is rooted in reality. When was the belastung time you actually spotted a woman on a construction site? Or hired a female plumber or carpenter? Your answer is most likely never. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statisticsreports that only 3.4% of the total of 8.3 million construction employees are women.pBut the construction industry has a lot more to offer than steel-toed boots and hard hats, and it needs women to help advance the industry in this era of rapid change. Here are 5 reasons why women joining the workforce or looking to make a pivot should consider a career in construction.h21. Fuel Innovation/h2pNot only is diversity the socially and morally right thing to do, but it is also actually an excellent business strategy. pResearch presented in the Harvard Business Reviewshows that diverse teams develop more innovative ideas. This is further supported by a study conducted by Gallupon the performance of gender-diverse teams versus single-gender team s, which found that the difference in backgrounds and perspectives led to better business performance and problem-solving. h22. Capitalize on Demand/h2pThe construction industry is currently experiencing a labor shortage. The industry itself is booming and projected to be one of the fastest-growing industries, with total spending projected to exceed $1.45 trillion in 2023/a. However, most construction companies are unable to meet the rising demand. pAccording to the Associated General Contractors of America/a, more than 80% of contractors are experiencing difficulties filling hourly craft positions that represent the bulk of the construction workforce.pAnd demand isnt limited to individual contributor roles. Given the industry boom, there are a number of open stable and high-paying roles (any project managers out there?) waiting for the right candidateh23. Leadership Opportunities/h2pAccording to the Bureau of Labor Statistics/a, women compose only 7.7% of the total 1 million manage rial positions in construction.br/pBut given the highly collaborative nature of construction work, more women in leadership roles would help drive innovation and enhance productivity.Furthermore, as a woman in construction in a leadership position, youd have the unique opportunity to drive change for the industry and make it a more attractive option for other women.h24. High-Income Potential/h2pSalaries for many skilled positions in construction are on the rise, making a construction career a prime choice for women looking for a high-paying job,pThe 2018 Construction Craft Salary Surveyconducted by the National Center for Construction Education and Research revealed that salaries for many skilled craft areas are increasing. Project managers and project supervisors topped the list at $92,523 and $88,355, respectively. The next set of highest-paying jobs include those of combo welders ($71,067), instrumentation technicians ($70,080), pipe welders ($69,222), power line workers ($68,262 ) and industrial electricians ($67,269). Of the 32 categories of workers in the survey, 19 positions earned an average salary of $60,000 or higher.h25. Sense of accomplishment/h2p The construction industry can give employees a unique sense of achievement. Yes, the job is stressful and the work can be demanding, but nothing beats the feeling of being able to build something from the ground up. pHow many professionals in other industries can point at a school, a hospital, or a skyscraper and say I helped build that?pThe construction industry has a long way to go in combating gender bias and supporting women in the workforce, but given the current demand for workers, theres no better time to pick up a sledgehammer (figurative or literal) and smash the gender stereotypes plaguing the construction industry.

How to Become an Aircraft Dispatcher

How to Become an Aircraft Dispatcher How to Become an Aircraft Dispatcher Aircraft dispatchers work for airlines and other scheduled carriers to ensure the safety of flight. They share the overall responsibility for the safety of each flight with the captain and work to maintain safe, efficient operations for their company. It takes only about five to six weeks of training to obtain your Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate. Aircraft Dispatcher Responsibilities Aircraft dispatchers work with many different departments and personnel in an airline to manage a flight’s safe, on-time departure and arrival. While an airline pilot is in charge of one flight at a time, a dispatcher oversees many aircraft at once. Some of the responsibilities of an aircraft dispatcher include: Producing flight plans while considering every aspect of the flight, such as fuel, winds, weather, maintenance issues, weight and balance, and airport delaysManaging weather delays and routing or re-routing aircraft as necessaryEnsuring each aircraft is properly equipped, or that the flight planning is properly adjusted for maintenance issuesMonitoring flight progress and alerting the captain of changes in weather, airport delays, runway closures, etc.Cancelling or delaying flights when necessary Determining the best course of action during an emergency situation Prerequisites for Aircraft Dispatcher Training To apply for an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certification, you must be at least 23 years old and be able to read, speak and write English. Dispatcher candidates must accrue 200 hours of training on specific topics. Then, students must pass a written knowledge test, a practical flight planning test, and an oral exam. You can take the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher knowledge test at the age of 21. Aircraft Dispatcher Training The FAA has mandated that all its dispatcher courses provide a minimum of 200 hours of training to aircraft dispatcher students. There are numerous aircraft dispatcher certification programs that are FAA-approved. Most of these offer either a five-week or six-week course that includes the 200 required hours. Some people, such as air traffic controllers and airline pilots, can get the dispatcher certificate with fewer hours of training since many of the training topics overlap. Training for an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate will include: MeteorologyWeather and Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) collection, interpretation and usageInterpreting weather charts and forecastsNational Weather Service products and servicesWind shear and microburst awareness and avoidanceAir navigation during IMC and the National Airspace SystemAir traffic control proceduresAircraft performance and weight and balance calculationsAerodynamicsHuman factorsAeronautical decision-makingCrew Resource Management (CRM) Written Exam for Aircraft Dispatchers The FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certification Knowledge test is an 80-question test. You’re given three hours to complete it and must pass with a score of 70 percent or higher. You must be at least 21 years old to take the exam, and a passing score is valid for 24 months. Knowledge tests can be taken at any approved testing center. There are testing centers located at most large airports. Practical and Oral Exams for Aircraft Dispatchers The practical exam for the Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate includes a detailed flight planning exercise. With minimum details, you’ll plan a flight as a dispatcher would in real life, taking into account weather, air traffic control procedures, company requirements, aircraft maintenance issues, aircraft performance, weight and balance, fuel management, airport information and so on. You’ll be evaluated on the entire scope of the flight. The examiner will ensure you have the knowledge associated with the tasks in the practical test standards, which are outlined by the FAA. Any tasks or areas of importance that are not covered while reviewing your flight plan exercise will be covered during an oral exam in which an FAA-designated examiner will ask questions, and you’ll answer them. After completion of a dispatcher certificate program, the FAA knowledge test, and the FAA practical and oral exams, you’ll be issued a temporary Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate, and you’ll be employable.

How to Find a Headhunter (and Other Executive Recruiting Myths)

How to Find a Headhunter (and Other Executive Recruiting Myths) How to Find a Headhunter (and Other Executive Recruiting Myths) Do headhunters still exist? That depends on which headhunter, executive recruiter, or HR professional you talk to. “Headhunter” is out-of-date slang for search and recruiting professionals who work outside a hiring organization to find talent says, Maureen E. O’Malley Rehfuss, SPHR, SHRM-SPC, Owner and President of Career Partners International Twin Cities. “Most modern search professionals prefer not to be called headhunters, Rehfuss continues. More appropriate terms are Staffing Professional, Executive Recruiter, Recruiter, Executive Search, or Talent Consultant, depending on the business model.” “Ive never met a headhunter who liked that term, echoes  Laura Handrick, HR Analyst for Fit Small Business.  Its old school and derogatory. They prefer recruiter, executive recruiter, or recruitment firm.” On the contrary,  Chris Murdock  thinks the term headhunter is making a comeback and has become synonymous with executive recruiters. Murdock is a Co-Founder Senior Partner at IQTalent Partners, a San Francisco Bay Area-based corporate recruitment agency that partners with clients to build effective in-house talent acquisition organizations. “Headhunters were once exclusively known as executive recruiters, or those who solely hired for positions in executive suites using old school recruiting tactics,” says Murdock. “Headhunting skills are now pretty transferable to other roles in HR and recruiting like the sourcer, who will fill roles in all job levels. Headhunters generally work on a case by case basis to fill specific roles needed by a company, not for individual job seekers. As for the actual title itself, headhunter is still a title that’s in effect.” Sean Gill, Managing Partner of Conexus Talent Acquisition Solutions, says headhunters absolutely still exist but they are now known as executive recruiters. “The word headhunter is still used â€" even though its misunderstood by many job seekers,” says Gill. What is a Headhunter? A headhunter is someone that works for a company and will actually go out and hunt “heads” â€" the passive candidate who doesn’t respond to ads and isn’t actively seeking a new opportunity, says Karen A. Young, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, President of HR Resolutions, LLC, a company that provides HR resource services and solutions in Central Pennsylvania. “Recruiters absolutely will accept your resume, but their ultimate job is to get to the passive job seeker,” says Young. Handrick explained further: “Headhunters work for the employer (not the job seeker) and serve as the recruiting arm of the HR department,” she said. “Theyre typically outsourced, and paid a percentage of the job placements annual salary (10%-35% or more) based on the job being sourced and the contract theyve negotiated with the business. Headhunters are experts in finding great talent. They know top players in their field.” Headhunters vs. Recruiters Other than title, there is no real difference between headhunters and recruiters says Young. “Headhunters are recruiters who dont mind being called a headhunter,” says Handrick. “Recruiters are headhunters who dont like that term. In general, the job is the same.” How Do Headhunters Work? “Employers hire headhunters to help fill positions â€" not the other way around,” says Young. “Headhunters work for the employer â€" that’s who pays their bill.” Murdock elaborated: “Once the headhunter reaches out to the job seeker, they’re working to source details on your professional skill set to see if it matches the exact demand of the role their working to fill. Headhunters are often working under tight deadlines, therefore leaving little room to make friends. If they find your job skills or background don’t fit exactly what they’re looking for, it’s not personal, their sole purpose is to fill that executive seat. They are paid by the organization who hired them, therefore their loyalty is solely dedicated to the company, not the job seeker.” Headhunters, or executive recruiters, typically focus on finding highly-skilled talent for hard-to-fill jobs. In many cases, these jobs may never be advertised, or are confidential. “Since the business pays the headhunter, its in the headhunters best interest NOT to focus on every candidate, but to focus only on the candidate that best fits the job opening requirements,” says Handrick. “If you work in IT and have experience with building mobile apps, your headhunter will want to place you, not because theyre helping you, but because theyre helping the client find the right talent to fill the job.” Hiring a Headhunter to Find You a Job There are job seekers today who still think they can contact a recruiter or headhunter whose sole job is to place the job seeker and find them a job. That’s false. “Years ago, job seekers could pay placement firms to help them land a job,” says Rehfuss. “This model disappeared years ago. Today there’s no one who searches the marketplace on behalf of job seekers like an agent does for actors, athletes, or select senior executives, areas where the law permits such an agreement. Today it’s clear that recruiters work for the hiring organization, which pays the full cost of filling a position, Rehfuss continues. In fact, in many states it’s illegal for licensed staffing and search firms to charge job seekers for their assistance.” Simply put, “a job seeker should never pay a recruiting or search a fee for presenting them as a candidate to a hiring company,” concludes Rehfuss. How to Find a Headhunter Ideally, a headhunter will find you during your executive job search, says Young. But if you find an executive recruiter or headhunter that recruits for the type of job or industry of interest, reaching out via LinkedIn is a good start. Making an introductory email is a good way to reach out. Don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back â€" executive recruiters are extremely busy and only respond to those that may fit their hiring needs. Networking, being an industry leader, or active with professional organizations is another way to stand out. But that still doesn’t mean one will get a return call or email, or even noticed. Good executive recruiters have specific needs and know exactly the type of candidate they want to go after. Minnesota-based executive recruiter Rick Deare once said he received about 150 resumes per day â€" and he does see them all. But he only contacts those who are a specific fit for his specific needs. So remember, executive recruiters and headhunters work for the employer, not the job seeker. Do Headhunters Ever Help Job Seekers? “Headhunters help fill open job positions for companies,” says Handrick. “Theyre recruiters.” However, theyre a great resource for job seekers because they know where the open positions are, adds Handrick. That’s why so many job seekers want to connect with headhunters, executive recruiters, or recruiters. Recruiters know what jobs are open, including hidden jobs, or jobs never advertised since many companies hire the recruiter to search/fill their openings. Recruiters can also provide interview tips, insight on a company culture, and/or help job seekers prepare for an interview or meeting with the employer. Don’t expect every recruiter to do this. It’s rare â€" they are busy and work for the employer. They often only do this to better prepare the job seeker for presentation to their client (the employer), not because they simply want to help the job seeker. Can Headhunters or Executive Recruiters Guarantee Candidates a Job? No. Never. Case closed. “No one can,” says Young. CV template Curriculum Vitae Template (CV Format CV Examples)

CV template Curriculum Vitae Template (CV Format CV Examples) CV template Curriculum Vitae Template (CV Format CV Examples) Okay, so, what's the difference between a CV format and a CV template? One's a suit. The other an armour. Here's to reading it again! What is a CV for a Job? A CV is a document for all your experiences - adventure, education and work alike. It should contain your most interested subjects and your most prevalent work tenure and your most successful achievements. Your CV should leave no room for doubt about the kind of job you are looking for and why you are the best person for that position. It should essentially reflect what you pay attention to and what you learn. So, get your CV made professionally today. Where do you need a CV? You mainly need a CV which covers all of your work experiences and teaching experiences in Europe and in most Commonwealth Countries. In the USA and Canada it's known as a resume, and tends to be a more concise document. HIRATION PRO TIP: To best figure whether you have written a resume or a CV for the correct country and whether you have the right skill-set, get it professionally reviewed. Who needs a CV? In most cases, a CV is required when you're applying for a job over seas except for US. In the USA most often than not, a resume is required. When you're applying for a job abroad, in most cases, it will be mentioned in the job description itself whether they brequire a resume or a CV from you. CV is most commonly required by peope in the field of academics as they need to convey lengthy and exhaustive information to the recruiter when applying for the jobs. Some academic related professions include - senior eexecutives, physicians, lawyers, archaeologists, etc. CVs are massive, extensive and exhaustive documents. They are supposed to contain all the accomplishments and experiences that a person have had. CV Template for Students The standard CV Template for students or freshers in the UK should be no longer than two sides of A4. The entry-level CV is the ideal type to use if you are a new graduate and applying for your first job. Just like most graduates you won't have much work experience to begin with so you should focus on your skills and education. You can talk about your modules, thesis/dissertation, hobbies or voluntary experience you had as a student, as long as they can be relevant to the job. Only include the main facts. If your CV is just one page, that's fine, as employers only want to read relevant information. Some medical or academic CVs may be longer depending on your experience. CV Template Medical There is no required length for medical CVs, with the general trend to be 2â€"3 pages of A4 that keeps the information succinct and relevant. An academic CV may tend to be longer, with research and publications being included. Medical CV generally includes all the following information in addition to a resume header and contact information. Education: name, location, degree and date from all institutions you've attended Leadership or participation in student organization, event, project, experience abroad Scholarships, Honors and Awards: include cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude, election to AOA, or Gold Humanism, awards (including service awards), scholarships, etc. Medically relevant work experience: listed in reverse chronological order Research: indicate the institution, department, principal investigator or supervisor, brief title of the research project, your role, and dates of participation Publications: include all published articles of which you are an author or co-author; bold your name Presentations: include all relevant presentations (verbal, poster, paper) at medical conferences, specialty association meetings, etc. Service: leadership and volunteer activities; SOM committees Interests: other skills such as foreign language, pilot’s license, etc. and hobbies Professional Memberships How to make a CV for job? Here is a good CV example. Let us guide you through the steps to make a skills CV. The CV Format Avoid serif/non-professional fonts such as Comic Sans and choose something more professional such as Calibri. Make sure your name and heading is in sizes between 14 - 16 pts and your body is in sizes between 10 - 12 pts. List everything in chronological order as opposed to the reverse chronological order in a resume. Keep it concise and easy to read by using clear spacing and bullet points. If you're posting your CV, go with single side printing on a white A4 paper. CV Template Writing Tips: Short positive, punchy and informative sentences that are on average 12 words long. Factual information that is logical and relevant to the job. Accurate industry specific keywords and phrases. Proof read content that has also been checked for spelling mistakes. Personal summaries that are clear and innovative. Change words and phrases to suit different jobs. Work duties that show your achievements and capabilities. Text that has been justified. Layouts that are visually attractive. A CV (curriculum vitae) allows you to summarise your education, skills and experience, selling yourself to employers. CV Template: Contact Information It is advisable to place your name, address, email, home and mobile telephone numbers at the top of your CV. This is the first thing a recruiter will see. It should, therefore, be used to display crucial and important information that you want the recruiter to notice immediately. CV Template: Summary/Objective Section Placed at the beginning of the CV, a summary or objective is a concise statement that highlights your key attributes or reasons for deciding to work in a particular field. Pick out a few relevant achievements and skills, while clearly articulating your career aims. It must focus on the sector you're applying to, as your cover letter will be job-specific. You should keep it short and snappy - 100 words is the perfect length. This is a useful and quick way to highlight how you are suitable for the role in question by stating your most relevant experience and skills as well as express your professional goals regarding your future career. CV Template: Education Section In CV Template for students, the education section usually appears at the top of the resume. List and date all previous education, including professional qualifications, placing the most recent first. Additionally, your CV should highlight the subjects you are learning at college which could be directly significant to the target job you are pursuing. It is not necessary to include grades in your CV. CV Template: Co-curricular/Extracurricular Achievements Awarded ‘Grade Card Distinction Award’ for consistently achieving 85% + academically,'11 Among top 10% students to receive ‘Psychology Award’ for outstanding performance in the subject,'11 CV Template: Work Experience This section usually lists your experience in reverse chronological order. For most CV Template for students, this section can be further divided into projects and internships. In that case, you shall arrange your important/current internship sections right below your education section. Make sure that anything you mention is relevant to the job you're applying for. If you have plenty of relevant work experience, this section should come before education. CV Template: Teaching Experience This is another skill that is vital for doctors, so include any teaching experience either formal or informal at any level, the topics and audience taught and what you gained from it. Have some feedback forms within your portfolio as evidence of this. CV Template: Training courses/Educational Symposia Include training courses and symposiums that add value to your CV, for example a suturing course will look good for surgical applications, as will basic and advanced life support courses. Courses related to examination preparation are usually not relevant. The courses can also relate to other aspects such as management, teaching, or research. For each one state the date and title of the course, and can be presented either reverse chronologically or in order of importance. Importance can further be split up into international, national, or regional courses. CV Template: Additional Information/Interests This is where you talk about the foreign languages you speak and the IT packages you can competently use. Whatever you list should be relevant to the job and not over-exaggerated, as you'll need to back up your claims at interview. If you have got lots of relevant experience you should do a skills-based CV. This is designed to present you as a well-balanced individual and to catch the reader's attention. Simply writing bird-watching, movie matching and reading is not going to catch the attention of the recruiter. Include any extracurricular activities that you do but rather than listing them, demonstrate why you do them and what you have gained from them especially how they have improved your ability as a doctor. It is important not to fabricate any information in this section as you can be quizzed about it during an interview. However, when relevant to the job, your interests can provide a more rounded picture of you and give you something to talk about at interview. CV Template: References You do not need to provide the names of references at this stage. You also don't need to write References available upon request as that is redundant information for the recruiter. You may find more professional CV Template on Hiration's free reference tool. Since, CV Template pdf do not cater to many priorities while drafting your resume, we have enlisted a few good CV Template in the form of jpeg or html to best understand the features of the suite. Good CV Template for first job CV Template academic Key Takeaways Try to put yourself in the recruiters shoes and find what exactly they are looking for in an applicant. Don’t be shy at highlighting and quantifying your achievements and capabilities. Write and tailor your curriculum vitae to fit the job you are applying for. Write all points in a cause-effect relationship to express what you did align with the impact you made. In your personal summary or career statement be enthusiastic for the job and align your skills with the requirements. ** Be truthful, do not exaggerate or lie.**

Air Force Tactical Air Control Party TACP

Air Force Tactical Air Control Party TACP Air Force Tactical Air Control Party TACP Tactical Air Control Party - Who Are They Tactical controllers are highly qualified air strike coordinators and effective air-ground communicators with fire power assets from fixed wing, rotary, and unmanned drones as well as coordinators of artillery. They are Ranger and Airborne qualified, and are proficient in static line and high-altitude, low-open parachute tactics, as well as in air assault and scuba operations. Tactical Air Control Party - How To Become One TACP training begins with basic radio maintenance and operation, then continues with land navigation and combat air support basics, followed by survival school, where they learn survival, escape, resistance and evasion tactics (SERE). To become an Air Force TACP, you must first pass the Special Tactics Tactical Air Control Party Physical Fitness Test (ST TACP PFT)  as governed by the Air Force Special Operations Command. The entry Air Force PAST Test to qualify for Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) 1.5 mile timed run in less than 10:47 Pullups 6 minimum Situps 48 minimum in 2 minutes Pushups 40 minimum in 2 minutes Note - these are minimum standards and you will be required to perform at a much higher level than the above. Do not make the minimum standards your end goal. You should be at least 1-2 minutes faster on the run and double these minimum standards on the PT exercises. From basic training until completion of TACP Special Tactics training takes about a year and is very physically and tactically challenging.  Many prepare for this course as if they were preparing for Ranger school with many miles of running and rucking under their belt prior to attending. The final test consists of Pullups, Pushups, SItups, 3 mile run, and a 12 mile ruck.   The strong will stand, the weak will fall by the wayside. For Air Force Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) airmen, these words are more than just a motto; they also serve as a battle cry. Tactical Air Control Party - Their Job Wherever American military forces are found, TACP airmen are sure to be nearby. Nicknamed the Air Force infantry because they spend most of their career assigned to Army units, tactical controllers can most often be found embedded with special operations forces. Our primary role is to direct combat strike aircraft against enemy targets, said Staff Sgt. Alan Lesko, TACP noncommissioned officer in charge with the Armys 10th Mountain Division, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. We also coordinate artillery fire with air strikes. To accomplish their mission, tactical controllers serve on the front line, often in advance of any other military units. In Afghanistan, they control the battlefield by coordinating strikes of the A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. Whether involved in a low-intensity conflict or full-scale conventional warfare, TACP airmen guide the full fury of American military might. Known by Army special operations soldiers as enlisted Joint terminal attack controllers (JTAC), TACP airmen provide close-air-support aircraft guidance control to increase the capability of ground combat forces. They also are experts in artillery and in naval combat and attack helicopter capabilities; they use all combat assets to rain destruction on the enemy. Some people think we are air traffic controllers, but thats inaccurate, said Airman 1st Class James Blair. Our mission is terminal control. That means bombs on target, and a very bad day for the enemy. TACPs do not control aircraft like CCTs do, TACPs direct the bombs, artillery, and missiles on the enemy positions. These airmen must be thoroughly proficient in ground combat techniques, and their training goes well beyond that of the Army infantry. Tactical control airmen serve as advisers to ground component commanders in planning and employing combat assets, and are the link between joint and combined forces. In Afghanistan, TACP airmen coordinate ground and air assaults on terrorist positions, provide convoy security for coalition forces and even assist with presidential security for the fledgling Afghan government. The fight for peace and freedom takes the tactical controllers into some of the roughest terrain and most inhospitable conditions in the world. Whether they are braving the freezing temperatures and thin air in the mountains of Afghanistan, or in the desolate, searing deserts of Iraq, wherever Special Forces are needed, TACP goes. Often they are the first in and last out. TACP airmen can be recognized by their black berets. Although the burgundy berets of Air Force Pararescuemen and the crimson berets of Air Force Combat Controllers are easily recognized, the black beret is seldom seen worn by Air Force members. In the field, tactical controllers wear a battle uniform that is unremarkable, without name or Air Force labels, rank insignia or unit markings. Instead, their uniforms are adorned with small patches that make them visible to American pilots using special night-vision equipment, and are clearly marked on the sleeves and boots with each airmans blood type. Video Past President Donald E Marlowe and ASMEs DC Efforts Video Past President Donald E Marlowe and ASMEs DC Efforts Video: Past President Donald E. Marlowe and ASME's DC Efforts Donald E. Marlowe, the 88th President of ASME, served his term in 1969-70. Among the topics he addressed in his wide-ranging Oral History interview (recorded in 1993) was ASMEs establishment of its office in Washington D.C. Marlowe had long been a believer in the importance of technical expertise to national policymaking, as well in the need for the Society to serve as a voice on behalf of the profession of engineering in Washington. Marlowes presidency afforded him a chance to lead ASME toward the creation of a D.C. office whence such efforts could be pursued. Marlowes presidency took place at a time of major change for ASME. Preparations for an overarching Goals Conference, to help chart a wholly new direction for the Society, were already underway as he entered office. The ASME Goals Conferencewell-known to members then as Arden House after the meeting center where the two-day discussion took placeformulated an enlarged agenda for the Society, among whose top items was a much enhanced approach to and interaction with government. In order to make such efforts possible at the national level, Marlowe pushed for the establishment of an ASME office in Washington, D.C. The proposal was accepted by ASMEs membership, and by 1972, The ASME Washington Office was open for business. Read more about ASMEs Oral History with Donald E. Marie Forleo says these are the only 3 questions you need to ask

Marie Forleo says these are the only 3 questions you need to ask Marie Forleo says these are the only 3 questions you need to ask One often wonders how one becomes a life and business coach and expert. It is such a lofty title. But for Marie Forleo, labeled by Oprah  as “the thought leader for the next generation,” the title is well earned. Forleo built her now business empire which includes best-selling books, her entrepreneurship class B-School, award-winning weekly show  MarieTV and her website,  www.marieforleo.com, has more than 300,000 readers from all over the  world, from absolute scratch. She was working two jobs and struggling to make ends meet when she started working on her online B-School class which  became one of Inc.’s 500 fastest growing companies of 2014 after launching in 2010. She has been interviewed by Oprah and Tony Robbins and has also mentored young business owners at Richard Branson’s Centre of Entrepreneurship in South Africa. She also celebrated the  fourth birthday of MarieTV, by raising $63,138 to build six wells in Ethiopia with  Charity Water. Her organization has also  pa rtnered with organizations like Virgin Unite, The Compassion Collective, Kiva, and Samasource. In other words, she has her stuff together. So what are her thoughts for helping you figure out what your life’s work should be? After all, her 8-week B-School (which costs $2,000) is designed to help people not only create a successful business they love but a life they love as well.At the SheKnows Media #BlogHer18 Creators Summit  Forleo told Ladders you really only need to ask yourself three questions to figure out your purpose.“What makes you come alive?’Forleo says this is the first thing you should ask yourself. “Everyone has that sense when they are either involved in doing certain things or doing something with people and they just feel like they can do it. ”“What pisses you off?”This is a different frame than the first question but you need to ask yourself this. “What makes you go ‘Why is this like this?’ There is some type of emotion that gets triggered,” she said.“What scares the sh-t out of you?”Forleo told Ladders,   “Is there some career or activity like writing, music, starting a company, whatever it is, that the notion of doing it makes you frightened?” If you can find that, you know it is something worth pursuing. That fear is really a sense of intuition.Forleo said in a previous interview, “One practice I have when looking at a situation is to ask myself, ‘Should I move ahead?’ If everything in me starts to feel contracted, if I feel my shoulders coming down, if there’s just an internal “no,” I can feel that that’s not what I should do.“On the other hand, if there’s a sense of expansion, even if it’s subtle, if something in me says, ‘Oh my goodness, this would be great - I’m scared, I don’t know if I can do it, but it would be amazing,’ then I know my intuition is telling me ‘yes.’ There’s always fear. But if you’re silent enough and still enough to listen to your intuition, you’ll always go in the right  direction.”

5 Remote Job Interview Questions to Prepare For

5 Remote Job Interview Questions to Prepare For 5 Remote Job Interview Questions to Prepare For 14 However, that shouldn’t discourage you from applying for a remote position. Remote teams aren’t necessarily looking for someone who has previous telecommuting experience. These teams are looking for indicators of success in a candidate.   Remote job interview questions are intended to sort out the type of person who would be successful working from home. To help you prepare for remote job interview questions, we’re sharing the questions we ask during every job interview and the types of answers we look for. “What’s your experience with working remotely?” If you’ve never worked remotely before, don’t panic. Don’t just say nothing, either. It’s important to acknowledge that you understand that working at home is completely different from working in an office. This is meant to be an open-ended question to draw out your thoughts on remote working. If you don’t have any experience with remote working, you should include the reason why working remotely appeals to you. If you haven’t done so already, do some research on the pros and cons of working on a virtual team. Make sure you’re comfortable with the benefits, as well as the drawbacks. Employers are looking for thoughtful answers from someone who acknowledges the positive aspects of remote working, along with the challenges. They don’t want to hire someone who will become unhappy because he or she suddenly realizes telecommuting isn’t what they expected. Prepare ahead of time for remote job interview questions like this and you will shine in your interview. “What does your ideal day look like?” Don’t start answering this question by talking about waking up and making breakfast. When we ask this question, we’re looking for a routine and structure to your day. Even if you’ve never worked remotely before, start with describing your routine in the office. For example, an employee may start their day with creating a prioritized to-do list, followed by checking emails. Remote job interview questions such as this are intended to sort out people who can manage working at home effectively from those who just think it would be nice but are not truly equipped for jobs like this. A candidate who likes and can easily fall into a routine is what remote teams look for. Remote workers are on their own for the majority of the day. Employers want to know that you’re disciplined, can fend off distractions, and have your own tactics to keep yourself on-track and productive. How do you like to work? Do you need a lot of direction? Some employees need more guidance than others. For example, one candidate required that checklists for projects were provided for him. This isn’t ideal for a remote team setting, because remote employees need to work independently from their managers and team. Hand-holding is more difficult while working remotely, which is why it’s not preferred on a remote team. To answer this question, it’s important to be honest. If you generally need a lot of guidance, don’t say that you work well independently; you may run into a lot of problems when you start working on a remote team. Before considering a job on a remote team, be honest with yourself and make sure you’re capable of successfully handling independent work. Some remote job interview questions need to be answered very honestly in order to for you to be successful working from home. “Give me an example of a project in which you were involved from beginning to end.” In this question, we’re looking for commitment and drive in a candidate. Since remote employees work very independently, employers want to know that a project will be in good hands if it’s assigned to you. The ideal candidate would share a story of a project that shows initiative and determination to show that he or she does not let projects slip. Some remote job interview questions may not make sense at the time, but they are geared towards finding people who can successfully handle the  schedule, work  environment, and work load  of working from a home office. “Are you comfortable with not being around people all the time?” Obviously, when you telecommute every day, you’re not around as many people in contrast to working in an office setting. The best candidate would be comfortable with working alone all the time; however, this candidate shouldn’t be looking for a job where he or she works in complete solitude. Working on a remote team isn’t an escape from working with all people. If you’re looking to work in complete isolation, then working on a remote team may not be a good fit. On a remote team, managers and other teammates occasionally check in or have to ask you questions. The ideal employee will not push them away, but will instead be responsive and communicative. If you’re interviewing for a remote job, be sure to prepare yourself for these types of questions. Familiarize yourself with the realities of working from home, especially if you’ve never done it before, to ensure you dont start a job with unrealistic expectations. Why People Hate Advertising so Much

Why People Hate Advertising so Much Why People Hate Advertising so Much Lets face it, advertising is often annoying. Its designed to be.   Advertising is not supposed to blend in or be ignored. It is supposed to shout at you, grabbing your attention in the BEST way (most clearly do not) in order for you to make a good association with the product or service on offer. If you really like it, you may just go on to purchase it.   However, all too often, advertising doesnt do its job very well. It either goes completely under the radar, selling nothing, or it hits you in the face like a frying pan in an old Tom and Jerry cartoon. Those are the ads were focusing on here today. Not specific ads, but the content used in them over and over again that rubs you all the wrong way. When these kinds of ads come on, you quickly change the channel, curse under your breath, or punch a hole in the magazine. Is one of your advertising pet peeves on the list?   1. Top of the Line Car and Base Price   Although it’s perfectly legitimate for advertisers to misrepresent cars in this way, it is somewhat misleading. 99% of these ads show the absolute best model you can possibly buy, with the lowest possible price listed next to it. Like a top of the range Honda Accord, with the price of the base model listed. It will say something like “From just $26,569” but in the fine print it will say “Model Shown $38,751.” Those are random numbers, but you get the point. Very shady. Very annoying. Its legal, but you hate it, and rightly so. When you walk into the showroom, you are immediately disappointed with what you can actually afford.   2. Oh Those Neverending Medication Side Effects To be honest, medication shouldn’t be advertised at all. It’s outrageous that the lobbyists got this one through. Only your doctor should be telling you what to take. But anyway, now that there are ads for medicines, there are disclaimers. Oh boy, are there disclaimers. And they go on and on and on and on and on. Usually, they last longer than the benefits part of the ad and include side effects so awful, you’d be better off with the disease. The sooner these ads get banned, the better. 3. Fake Husband Wife Scenarios Most advertising is fake anyway. But those poor actors that have to represent married couples, they top the list of unrealistic scenarios. Either the husband is a moron, the wife is constantly worried about cleanliness, or they’re both asking each other insanely dumb questions. “Hey honey, did you know Cereal X is not only good for my digestion, but it’s also good for my heart too?” “Of course silly, that’s why I bought you two boxes. It’s also good for my purse.” They both laugh heartily.   In what world is this a reality? In fact, it parodied to perfection in The Truman Show, with Trumans wife offering to fix him some new Mococoa drink. All natural cocoa beans from the upper slops of Mount Nicaragua, no artificial sweeteners! Trumans response, What the hell are you talking about? Who are you talking to?! 4. Making Food Look Insanely Delicious To be fair, there are laws about this. An advertiser or brand cannot do anything to blatantly falsify the product. They must work with the actual food being sold. BUT they can work with the best of the product, and spend hours making it look beautiful. For instance, if making a burger, they will get a food stylist to select the best bun, slice the best tomatoes, and cook a burger to perfection. They will spend a lot of time assembling it, adding just the right ketchup drips, and putting it in the best light. It’s a thing of beauty that can take hours. On reflection, your average fast food burger flip has about 20 seconds a best to assemble yours. But, it’s still annoying to compare the picture to the sad reality in your hand. Ask Michael Douglas. 5. Those Not-So-Adorable Talking Babies Once, for about five minutes, they were cool. That quickly turned into forgettable. Then annoying. Then really annoying. Then “please come back Mr. Charmin, all is forgiven!” Talking babies advertising finances, cars, insurance or anything else for grown-ups is bad enough. When it’s for baby products, it’s a stunning lack of original thinking. What next? Talking dogs for pet food? 6. Those Misspelled Words. Sorry, Wurdz Once it was a sign of rebellion. The brands are so cool, they don’t even have to follow the laws of grammar. Now, everyone’s doing it, and it’s getting really annoying to people. Brands are adding letters, substituting others, and dropping some altogether. And with so many web domains taken, brands are trying to get creative. An ad on the radio for something called borrow dot com was actually spelled Borro.com. When you have to spell it out in the ad, youre working too hard. In fact, the radical move these days would be to spell everything correctly. 7. Blatant Product Placement Everyone freely admits that product placement happens in the entertainment world, and they understand it helps pay for some of the high costs of the productions. But there’s a clear difference between a movie or show using a certain brand of car, compared to one that has a huge focus on it. Who can forget the Texaco scenes in Back To The Future parts one and two? The moral here for advertisers is, do it if you must…but do it with more subtlety. 8. Very Loud Advertising You’re watching a TV show set on 40% volume, an ad comes on at 90% and makes your ears bleed. This is not a convincing argument for a floor cleaner or bottle of pop. Loud is not a way to break through the clutter, in the same way violent facial acne is not a great way to get noticed. Laws have been in place to stop this from happening since 2011, but the advertisers have found loopholes. Until those loopholes are closed, you are going to keep getting hammered with screaming, shouting, awful ads.   9. Completely Inept People Look...we all know how difficult some tasks can be. Stripping the engine of a Honda Civic to replace the timing belt is not for the novice. But commercials have us believe that it takes an IQ of 200 to make an omelet without setting fire to the kitchen. Infomercials and As-Seen-On-TV products are the biggest perpetrators of this. Every single task, from opening a can of tuna to putting on your socks, is almost impossible to do. Unless, of course, you buy their new product.   10. Overpromising The advertising term is “exaggerating the benefit.” You, the consumer, calls it  total BS. Chocolate is nice, but is it a “rich, creamy, decadent experience for your taste buds?” Is a car going to take you to the most unimaginable places? Is wallpaper going to change your life? No.
